A study examing the effect of stopping endocrine therapy of women with breast cancer to allow pregnancy

Weill Cornell Medicine

Trial Summary

In this trial, researchers will study the effects of digital tomosynthesis mammography to see if it's better than digital mammography at breast cancer screening. Digital mammography, also called Full Field Digital Mammography (DM), is a procedure where x-ray is used to product pictures of breast tissues. Digital tomosynthesis mammography, also called Digital Breast Tomography (TM), is similar to DM but it creates a 3D like picture. They are both used to detect if the participant has breast cancer or not. The participants will be randomly assigned into two groups, one group will receive DM, while the other group will receive TM.

518 participants will be recruited and everyone will stop endocrine treatment to allow for pregnancy, and will resume treatment after pregnancy.
